Football News Around The 5 Continents

What I See During Emirates Cup

Emirates Cup now have become season curtan raiser for ARsenal. What I like about the competition, we can see the upcoming team for the new season and the lads will have a competetive friendly match against the top team before the new season start.

This season Emirates Cup have let us witness two upcoming talent in Arsenal squad in the shape of Wilshere, Frimpong & Jay Emmanuel Thomas. We also have witness the new partneship at the heart of Arsenal defence. Like always there always a positive and negative we can witness.

THE POSITIVE

1. Emergence of the young talent

This year the world have witness how much talent Arsenal have in the sleeve which under 21 of age. The emergence of Frimpong and Jay Emmanuel Thomas really amazed us. And who says our youth policy haven't bear a fruit and waste a times. The youth academy wll be very important escpecially with the new system coming in. All this while the young talent have been overshadowed by the big money transfer. With the new system, everybody have to introduce their youth players to the first team.

2. The confidence of Wilshere and Gibbs
This two lads have been featured in the first team before. At the Emirates Cup, they look more confidence and composed. Wilshere just like a wizard at the middle of the field. Always involved in the play and whenever needed, he help in the defending also. Gibbs continuosly show his rapid development at the left back and I confident he will give Clichy a competion. Things does look bright fro the Arsenal and England.

3. Walcott
A seems like putting the dissappointment of the World Cup behind him. Constantly give trouble to the defender and if only his final ball is good, he wll be unstoppable. But well done Theo. He look like bouncing back to his best.

4. Good Attacking
What can we say about Arsenal. Among the best attacking team in the world. Chakmakh really look impressive. Good in the air and deadly, he just what Arsenal need. Vela looking good. The big bonus, Arsenal look always treatening even without Cesc.

THE NEGATIVE

1. The Defence
What can we say about the defence. Always leak. This season seems like no improvement. The weakness in Arsenal defence is the concentration. Last season Arsenal lost the title due to lack of concentration from the defender and goalkeeper. At the Emirates Cup also the same. After leading, we concede when at the end of the game. This sort of concentration need to be solve at once.

2. Mark Randall
He says he didn;t want to play when the reserve lose 1-4. But who can blame the boss for not bringing him. His arrival at the games against Milan didn't bring any significant effect. He don't look confident. All he do is just a simple pass. Rarely involved and too scare to try. He has been with Arsenal for ages already. He should be better. I just have on opinion about him. Just offload him and bring younger and confident player in his place.

3. Goalkeeper Issue
Almunia and Fabianski look better than last season. Whats the issue? It still didn't solve anything at all. The number 1 jersey still open just like and open auction.

Anyway, I just can wait to the new season. Have been so bored with no Arsenal games during offseason. Future does look bright for Arsenal. I hope with the new system, Arsenal will have a better chances. Apart from Arsenal, most of the teams will struggle when the injuries to their 25 man squad taking its toll. And also not to forget, England future look bright to. Wilshere, Walcott, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Gibbs and Frimpong (if he changes his mind and want to play for England).
