The Football News All Around The Five Continnents
I make a decision that from today onwards this blog is not about Arsenal only. Why? Because I already had my own personal blog about Arsenal marcmm03.blogspot.com which linked to few Arsenal news site. I cannot have two Arsenal blog. It is better for me to have one and concentrate on it.
So I made a decision that this blog is about football in whole. As this site is called Football Five by the address URL, I will try my best to have update about football in five continents. You heard it right, five continents, Asia, Europe, CONCACAF, South America and Africa. I won’t be able to have a full detail of update, but I will try to pick the most interesting stories I can.
So first we look at Asia. Last night Pre-Olympic qualifier between Malaysia and Lebanon ended in 2-1 victory to Malaysia. The first leg in Lebanon ended in 0-0 and Malaysia only need to win to qualify to next stage while Lebanon only need a goal draw and take advantage of the away goal rule. 2 first half goals is enough for Malaysia to get through.
There isn’t much news around regarding African football. But there is 1 African player that has made headlines in these past few weeks. Samuel Eto’o of Inter Milan and Cameroon has been many clubs radar now. He has express his desires about leaving Inter Milan and headed for Premier League. He has been heavily link to Arsenal but I don’t think Arsenal will sign him what to say he and Arsenal Alex Song just cannot see eye to eye. The last thing Arsenal need is a tense dressing room.
In CONCACAF, the Gold Cup is getting to the final match. The final will be between United States and Mexico. I guess everybody know who will be in the final even before the Gold Cup starts. And sad news also breaks out. Costa Rica defender Dennis Marshall just passes away from car accident. He died after a head collision accident with a truck mountain highway in eastern San Jose. Rest In Peace Dennis Marshall.
Now we head to South America. Santos has claimed their 3rd successive Libertadores Cup after defeating Penarol 2-1. This win means Santos will present South America in World Club Championship this December.
Now finally Europe where the news just never stop. The transfer window yet to be opened but the transfer rumours just keep on updating just like an auto update. Who will stay, who will leave and who will come and it kept going and going. If we subscribe the transfer news by RSS, we might see our pages full for one day and it might even take up to 3 pages. The biggest news now is the scandal in Greece.
Two club president in Greece were charged with betting fraud. Things just not look good there. Hopefully our football will be much cleaner.
That’s all for now. I’ll try to keep updating the football news around the world. Stay tune.
