"Go Watch CSI Instead..."== Football (non-)NEWS -- 12 OCT '07 - (LINK)
They say no news is good news... if so this must be a great day for football. Lets see what insane lies the papers and websites are spouting today, given that it's international week and there is f&^k-all actually happening:
Web Rubbish (unashamedly stolen from Teamtalk, as per usual):
-Kevin Nolan will fight for his Bolton shirt. I wasn't kidding about there being no news. This is what Teamtalk are reduced to for a lead story.
-Henk touches down at Chelsea. Hurrah!
- Ireland hammered 6-0 by Germany. Okay this hasn't happened yet, but as a fan of the Boys in Green, I advise you to watch this space....
Newspaper Lies:
* According to the papers, Sven Goran Eriksson wants to sign just about everyone. The latest story to tease Manchester City fans is that he wants Michael Owen, and is willing to pay up to £15m (Sun).
* Joke of The Day courtesy of the good people at The Mirror : Briatore/Ecclestone, new owners at QPR, are going to give their new boss (some no-name Italian) £20m to spend on new players. Here's the punch-line: they want to entice Alessandro DelPiero to the mighty Loftus Road outfit.
* Nicklas Bendtner wants out of Arsenal. (Sun)
* More Arsenal news: Charlton 'deny' they want Alex Song, despite reports he is training with the Addicks.
* Terry out of Saturday's game; and looks likely to miss Wednesday's match against Russia as well (Star). And in fact could require surgery on his knee and might be out for a lot longer than that... (Mail)
* Rooney hasn't scored for more than three and a half years. We all have our dry spells, son. Maybe you should go back to that old house of ill repute you used to frequent in Liverpool?
*Wolves boss Mick McCarthy and Wales boss John Toshak having a bit of a tiff over why Freddy Eastwood is not getting picked for his club.
