With the ever growing demand of Soccer since the success of the Socceroos at the 2006 World Cup, Australians have finally come to the acknowledgment of the world game and have embraced it.
After so many decades of Iconinc sports such as AFL, cricket and rugby dominating our beloved sports fans of this nation. It seems Australia has opened up its heart to the game of football (soccer). Soccer was introduced to Australia in the 40's and 50's with the migrants from overseas just after the wars. Along with their families they brought their culture and more importantly they brought their passion, Soccer.
In recent studies it has shown the majority of Australian children partake in soccer more than AFL, many years back that was never the case, obviousily soccer is doing something right.
So either the AFL has to bring back entertainment or re-evaluate their objectives in winning these fans back.
