Australian Soccer Development
Australia has become the biggest growing sport in todays society. It is the most viewed sport in the World. However Australia has recently come to grips with this matter, where they find themselves put up on a podium due to the success of their previous World Cup in 2006.
Australia has produced top players with the likes of Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka, Tim Cahill and so on. But it seems these elite players have had influence externally, meaning outside of Australia. Why is that? well firstly we can see that Asutralia has only recently adopted this sport as a national sport.
Where they have looked to one of there sister countries England for that expert level to benchmark off. However we have seen recently the Asutralian way of playing cannot be adapted to the english game. Where it should be noted successfull adoption and influence by the Dutch system, where it allows the players to play a game of tactition where it implements the focus on technicality and possesion of the ball, support and working up the ball as a unit rather than a long ball.
Now introduced into all junior competitions starting, FFA have injected into the system small sidded games, focusing on technical skill, game awareness, possesing the ball, confidence in a junior environment resulting and benchmarking against the qualities of countries like Brazil, Holland, Japan and e.t.c
